I really liked your forum, colours are ok, everything is in a harmony. But not showing the categories is not for me. I want to see what's in when I enter a forum.
We had a little truble with doing our forum as a standerd style, people said that we cover to many catergories and its to confusing, so we went for this new style, and since we did we seem to get more people posting in the correct section and more often, also we get more registerd users.
up to now this is anyway, I do understand where your coming from with your thought though, I serpose the page is more like a mini catergory show and if you only want to use one section then you can.
